So my birthday just passed and I wanted a nice new simulation game. This game totally satisfied my needs and more. I play mostly Xbox and most games like this are geared more towards PC gaming. But seriously, I did not overrate this game at all. It totally deserves a 10. Here are the reasons why. You start off with just a few buildings and some roads in a certain part of your island. Each island has its own resource benefits. You take advantage of those resources by building mines, farms, and docks for fishing. Once you have enough money from those resources you will eventually be able to construct government buildings to manage your island more effectively. Keep in mind that you also have workers that work on your island to build these buildings and if you dont cut them the right wages, they will quit. And there are many other different types of buildings for tourism, entertainment, education etc. Plus its 40 dollars. I mean this was the best 40 dollars I have ever spent on a game so go out and get it now so you can discover the world of tropico!!

Those who enjoy the SimCity games, maybe even Ages of Empires, will enjoy this. It focus on building a strong economy while catering (or disregarding) requests from political factions each with their own agenda. The game play is comical and pokes fun at Communism/Dictatorship governments. Natural disasters can be a pain if aren't financially prepared for them. Over all, the game can be as complex as you want, by using the wide variety of money making structures, or simple by finding a set amount of buildings that work for your style and repeat your pattern throughout the campaign mode.
