Because if you're into city builders and you don't like this game you are treasonous. The game let's you become "El Presidente" the all powerful ruler of tropico. In your rule you can exercise your power to help your people or rule by force. The game throws humor in a lot of the time, and while there not Laugh till you lungs hurt funny they do entertain you. The latin music makes you want to dance and the graphics are enjoyable. The game adds politicts to the city building aspect and allows you to pass laws and if you wish have people executed. Citizens of your island nation are all different. There are intelligent people, stupid people, brave people and cowards who all have different political groups they side with. The sees you pleasing your people or surrounding them with soldiers to deter uprising and rebellion, as well as keeping on the good side of the U.S. or U.S.S.R (unless your country has a nuke) so that you aren't invaded.

This is one of the most addicting games I have ever played. I never really liked games like SimCity or anything of that nature, but Tropico rules.
