Weak

less than expected

looks great. plays bad simple and boring. environment backrounds are bland though good looking.over all with it being based on the movie you really can't expect more but with the wealth of characters and plot line the transformers have developed over the last 20 years + as a fan all you can hope for is a marvel alliance type game to be released one day and then and only then will you ever be satisfied.

Pretty game w/ some fun twists

The graphics in this game look good at 1080. The game play is fairly good although the physics pretty much stink. The only thing that keeps this somewhat interesting is that every couple chapters you switch transformers (either autobot or decpticon). This lets you drive cars, fly helicopters and jets. The main theme of the game is you can be good or evil, auto or decpti, but there's really no difference in the story or gameplay, your just the guy chasing or being chased. Bottom line --- Worth playing and checking out if your a vintage transformers fan (like me) or a new fan. If you dont know the characters you probably wont get much enjoyment out of this lacking title.

more time would've yielded more

This game packs some good fun that lasted for a weekend. Don't expect too much though. First off the graphics do impress, there is sometimes so much going on around you (explosions, bullets, cars and scenery hurtling through the air and other chaos) that you can lose sight your thirty foot tall robot in the tempest. some of the explosion effects are weak but overall there is a lot to see and no real frame rate issues that I ever noticed.
the game play itself is where this one fails. All the missions are the same 'go here and beat up robots' over and over and over. The variety of enemies is low and some are more trouble than they should be when you are using one of the more powerful units. The boss fight suck and all of them come down to 'throw a car, hit him twice, run, throw a car'. Expect to do a lot of the same thing. There are collectible items that unlock bonus content strewn throughout the stages which are large enough, but not open world like a normal sandbox game. The unlock-ables are plentiful and seem nice but the game never tells you WHAT you unlocked leaving you to search through the 200+ items to see what is new. I really believe that if the developers had another six months or more to develop this game it would have been a much better game. Lots of squandered potential.
OVERALL 5/10
THIS GAME WILL LAST A COUPLE DAYS, IF YOU COLLECT EVERYTHING AND DO THE BORING SIDE MISSIONS, A WEEK ,TOPS. MONOTONOUS GAME PLAY AND NO SATISFACTION ARE WHAT I WALKED AWAY WITH. better games are: HULK ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION and WAR OF THE MONSTERS both on ps2.
