Transformers: Prime is based on the cartoon show showing on a channel named the Hub. This isn’t a good sign for this game because usually games based on TV shows are piled together just to get the fans of the show to hand over more money.
Even so, this is one game that does something the past two Transformers game on the Wii didn’t do – lets you transform from vehicle to robot or robot to vehicle at will. It really livens up the combat to try out the different modes of attack.
But, just like most other games in the made from TV show genre, the makers of this game didn’t put much of an effort into it.
Before the game came out, there was news that it was going to have online battle modes for up to 12 players – but that never made it to the final version of the Wii version of the game.
Instead, you only get a two player split screen mode with all the usual options: deathmatch, capture the flag, and a third option where you are scored on how many hits you land on your opponents.
The only other thing this game has is a Story Mode. Here, you go through 13 levels, blasting enemies and making jumps as you go from Point A to Point B. Most of the foes you will fight are nameless Descepticons, but you will fight Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave and so on.
But this mode only goes for three to four hours, and there’s very little reason to give it a second go. Sure, I could unlock really bad looking emblems and character bios, but it really didn’t thrill me very much.
The controls work well for the most part – except for the shaking the Wiimote for the melee attacks and melee combos (which are very clunky and sometimes unreliable.)
Transformers: Prime is good for a few hours of simple shoot ‘em up fun, but it’s not worth the $40 price tag. RENT IT.
This game is alright its just not that good enough so this is an average action brawler transformer kind of game... the controls are decent but average gameplay and graphics for a wii 2012 release. If you are fans of this series you might enjoy this kind of game though its worth a rent but not a buy because there is no online just multiplayer mode you can do singleplayer but it will be the same thing over and over. This game was made for kids if you have a kid and they like playing the wii just rent it or buy it if they are fans of the series they will like this kind of game but will most likely get bored after they finish the game.
I love the Transformers Prine serise and I advise if you love them continue to watch this show. But the game was honestly they dident put that much time into this to make it with the true show. I mean you have the characters and the vehical modes I loved to be Arcee and the motercycle. The controls were of press b to shoot and shake the remote for hirs and then if you get enough hits on the enemy you get their special power (aka Bulkheads wrecking ball arm, Primes Axe ect). The graphics were ok but they honestly could have been better almost everything about it could have been better if it was made like war for cybertron, If it was made like that I would have given this game a higher rateing. overall its fun to play about once in story mode then you can return it but I dont see much replay value in this
