Gameplay for campaign mode is awesome. Online, though, is another story. You have to accumulate experience to be able to compete with other players, as opposed to everyone having the same chances of winning from the get-go. You have to pay to get the stronger characters and weapons. The game is $60 to buy but you would have to pay at least $20 more to play as a dinobot or other vinatage characters, even though they are already part of the game in campaing mode so no real need to have to download anything, just pay the vig.
All in all the general game isn't all that bad. The story line is captivating and exhilarating if not immature. Certainly set to the young demographic of Teens and pre-teens. I can certainly see how you can get engrossed in the game.
The main issue i have with the game is the Graphics. For a game by Activision the graphics left a lot to be desired much less the game being released in Mid 2012. The graphics were grainy and choppy. I expected a lot more from a game by Activision.
The story line was good. It allows you to envision the final days of Cybertron which is good. It doesn't leave you with a whole lot of blanks as some games do it actually fills in some blanks. It was just a well thought out story line that tied in really consistently to the movies.
The controls were simple and easy to understand as is most shooter games the general controls for aim and shoot are the same which makes it easy to use and control.
In final words the game was good NOT great by no means. The developers should have worked on the graphics a lot more then they did, and perhaps spent a little more time on not making the story line so corny. But as i said before it is set to the Teen/pre-teen demographics.
