This game has a great story, with memorable characters! It uses the bottom screen alot and is a great DS game! But I beat it in like 5 hours! It a great game, but really short! I still say the Story is great and there are some great puzzle solving! This game is worth sinking your stylus into!
Trace memory may be a little slow at times, some of the clues may be a little hard to find. BUT if you got your d.s. to experience new game play this game has it. There are parts of the game that you must stamp pictures, fog up windows and scrap rust off things. If I told you more it would ruin the effect. This game was short and there is a lot of reading to be done. But this game is really interesting !!! They need to make a second one and fix the small problems
Trace Memory is an interesting cross between innocence and maturity in a game. The anime-styled characters and their boundless optimism in the face of danger makes the game lighter than most dark rpgs on the market, and yet not tasting of bubble-gum.
The gameplay reminded me of some mid-late 90's RPGs, where scenes were investigated by selecting details of an overall picture, then zooming in on them. There were a number of puzzles, also reminiscent of earlier RPG's. The designers also utilized many of the extra features of the DS, including the open/shut design, and the microphone.
The game was very, very short. I completed it in just over 4 hours, and I'm notorious for wandering around too much. There is some replayability, but not a terrible amount. This was the only downside I could find in the game, but it was enough to have me sending it back instead of purchasing it.
