This Need the Board from Ride, or etc. and Is Fun!
Challanging at times but with easy difficulty changes you can simplify your experiance if need to Enjoy. Really Not a Perfect 10 Game but truely Way better than th 2.3 Average I needed to help bring it up.
I don't understand wy many ware so Harsh on this game I mean Come on its as close as you can get in your house to riding a board. The maps are ok and the controlls are Bais and no mass button tapping to get a special trick executed.
A little physical so perhaps the low raters are too much of a Sit and Play type. if thats the case Your personal Rating should reflect the scope of your appreciation for what the game is and does.
It functions well if callibrated right and on a hard or very lightly padded surface. The controlls are harder for Those of you with 1/2" Pile carpet with padding under it because it will not be a precise due to sinking into your carpet and Pad.
Really Enjoy a Good play Properly before you discard this as a Fair-Good Game Yes truely A closer to 5-6 Rate, so A Must Rent if you already have the Board form Ride.
I'm keeping this one and selling the ride game since that did not include Snowboarding as well. SO FUN!
I went over to my bro's house the other day and he popped in Tony Hawk Shred into his PS3. Man, was i surprised! This get this clear first; i am no fan of skateboard games, partially because i suck at skateboarding (trust, you would laugh if you saw me attempt a kick-flip) But is that why i'm here? Nope. Read my review to find out!
Gameplay and Skateboard issues: Gameplay is technically the same as previous Tony Hawk games, but this time, wait for it... you actually get a real board! Yay! Too bad that skateboard set you need to play is not only at the price of what, 50? But what is really bad, WHERE CAN U FIND ONE? I have yet to detect one on the shelfs of various stores where i usually buy this sort of equipment! Try and order it online if you can.
Sound/Graphics: Really nothing different? Despite the fact Tony Hawk now has competition against Shaun White (showdown!), things haven't improved since the last time i slid in a Hawk game.
Storyline: Despite the fact me and my friend got really deep into this game, we failed to find a storyline amongst the nice layers of fun that blanket an ugly-on-the-inside videogame. But hey, he may have found something in the past few days? :itsalive!:
Controls: This is why i gave it an 8. You know why? Because i have rid a skateboard before. I know that expierience, feeling the weight being shifted constantly, and the fear of falling off. Tony Hawk: Shred brings that expierience (even if it is an unpleasant one for me...) and mashes it up into a fairly good game. The weight shifts and balancing are so very precise and realistic, i may have picked up a few tips for the next time i pull that old skateboard out of my cob-web infested garage...
Conclusion: I'm running out of time... In conclusion, this was a great game. GameFly doesn't provide the board needed to play, so you're better off looking for it in stores, although it is very unlikely you will find a copy, as mentioned in previous reviews... Cheers!
