Better off sticking with Playstation or Xbox vers.

This title appears to a mix of Project and Wastland put together, yet just another Tony Hawk title with the same lines given when you land out of bounds or in the water. What makes the Wii version real weak is the extremely awkward nunchunk and wii mote setup you have to use during gameplay and especially if you are used to the standard controller setups, its even more difficult to adjust. Since this is the case I would have given the game a much higher rating. My advice is if you really like the Tony Hawk Series is to stick with Ps and xbox versions.
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground probably isn't a bad game and is comparable to recent TH games, but I most likely won't ever have the chance to find out.
The show stopper here are the terrible controls. If I was given the chance to use one of the Classic Controllers that I own, this game would probably have met my expectations. However, I was forced to use the Remote-Nunchuk combo and it doesn't work. This game is a controller game. I'm sure it was developed to be cross-platform since it's out for a few different consoles. This means the game was designed to be played with a controller. The Wii controls are essentially a hack to get it to be playable for the console. The outcome is a disaster. I can understand that they don't want to require the player to buy a Classic Controller to play the game, but the option to use one needed to be there.
In conclusion, if you really want this game, get it on a different console.
first off, i must say the tony hawk series is finally getting better...project 8 was the first title since the original that kept my attention for more than an hour. that being said, i was very excited to rent proving ground and to have the addition of the wii remote made the anticipation even greater. unfortunately, this version of the game is...not living up to my expectations for this title. the game is great and there are many new attributes gliding along the path project 8 laid out, but nintendo should have let this title pass...or fired their testers...really, my arms are sore from trying to get the controls to work properly...also, the graphis are poor and the loading time is an annoyance. if you are a gamer who wants a frustrating challenge, pick this title up on the wii...if you want clearer graphics and better control, rent it for xbox360(i did rent it for xbox360 and am in love with that version!!)...and if you want to see all of the scenes and side missions nintendo left out, rent 'em both.
