Tomb Raider The Definitive Edition is a great game. The mechanics are very natural and fit with the role of the game. Anyone who has played Uncharted will be familiar with the controls. The levels in this game are superbly designed. It naturally leads you to where you need to go and be while also giving you some freedom in your choice of just barreling ahead to progress the story and solve a number of unique tombs.
The game also looks fantastic. This is a big step up from the PS3 version visually which I saw while my brother played it a few months ago.
There were a couple minor gripes I had with the game. The story is very good and voice acting fits great for the most part. Jonah is the only character that felt like he was giving use canned lines. Another thing is the stealth system. Lara has a Survivors insight which works similar to Batman in the Arkham games. This allows her to highlight enemies and know when she can take them out without notifying the others. However even when you do take someone down and another enemy comes upon the body they will flagrantly ignore it. This really pulls you out of the story.
I highly recommend this game. You can burn through the campaign in probably 15 hours, may be less. Or you can take your time and finish at 100% completion. I didn't just because I don't think getting a platinum would be fun for me with the multiplayer trophies you need to get as well.

Tomb Raider is one of the greatest action adventure series since the playstation days but since it been through a bit of an identity crisis since the PS2 days, Crystal Dynamics decided to go back to a blank slate with the 2013 reboot. Tomb Raider didn't really did well in gaming community, just press and game conventions wise. Anyway Tomb Raider is re-done for the next gen systems, PS4 and Xbox One. The only difference between them is graphics and controller wise but is about the same.
Story is the same as it was before. Lara Croft and her crew mates of the Endurance gets shipwrecked on a island that is inhabited by crazed fanatics that wants to revive the old sun queen of the island. No matter if its on PC, PS3, 360, or PS4 and Xbox One it is a great action adventure ride story wise.
Gameplay is mainly the same except it makes use of some of the new features of the controllers, mainly on the PS4. Also all DLC is included on the disc so no more DLC downloading. Anyway it is great to have the lightbar and the speaker of the controller being used quite a bit, which I thought was cool. Multiplayer still is the same old modes that is not great at all.
Graphics is upgraded with the look and feel besides being at 1080p 60 frames a second (Xbox one version is at 720p at 30 frames, just saying) Anyway the graphics and sound makes the player more connected to the game, especially with Lara trying to survive and get off of the island.
Overall I give this game a 10 out of 10 and I think this is a great game to show off the new PS4 to anyone.
