The game looks great, story seems to be fun. However, this game still has the same flaws that have plagued this entire series. Sam a so called Spec Ops guy has hardly any hand to hand combat skills. Anytime the action is far and your sniping or just avoiding it's a good game, and even sneaking up on someone is a easy kill. However, the minute the action gets in your face the lack of hardly any hand to hand skills ruins any sort of fun. Sam gets killed over and over as the play control close up is horrible. It's slow and feels cumbersome to the point where it's a deal breaker. I get the stick to the shadows routine, but enough is enough. This many games and the man should at least be able to do some hand to hand. Add the tired old check point system which ensures you will repeat the same tired old death due to lack of up close combat skills and you have another bad chapter in this series. Rent , don't even consider spending 59.99 on this game, so not worth it. It's simply the last version with better looking graphics, FAIL.
sure alot of hardcore fans are mad they made the game easier, I was mad they did away with the ability to move bodies, but theres really no need to I guess! Tom Clancy has been notorious for making games that cause me to break a controller or just never finish the game because Im stuck in a level, like the first Rainbow Six complete with NO checkpoints and a clumsy squad to get in your way, or just get killed out in the open so you have to risk your life to save them. Games that are too hard never sell well, and its clear they wanted a game to appeal to the masses. Hardcore fans might be upset at the changes but Im sure casual gamers welcome the change. THE GAME IS B.A. at least rent it!
This game is a must play. I will start by saying that I really did not play any of the previous splinter cell games. If you haven't either do not have any reservations whether or not it is worth picking this game up. It is entertaining, fun, and rewarding to play. The mark & execute system is something that I have read is new to this franchise and I believe it works nicely. Its a cool way of rewarding the player for being stealthy. Stealth games often frustrated me because I lacked the patience to move slow and methodically, but this game had me hooked from the start. If you are a fan of a good stealth game or shooter you must do yourself a justice and pick this game up.
