this game is very much a good game but you are no longer really a stealthy kind of thing i mean you can pretty much completely go in there guns blazing and win. but if you do use the stealth youll have the advantage. if you liked the game before then i would definatly suggest this game.

Why change a good thing? Being a ghosts shadow was a high point to the original games. This game would have been better if the gameplay would stayed the same. It seems like they just wanted to get it out to make money, but to anyone who likes the original I predicte your feeling ill bee the same. Also the game is way to easy. COME ON CLANCY YOU USE TO BE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why, Ubisoft, did you take one of my favorite franchises and turn it into Gears of War?? No stealth is required, just jumping from cover to cover, taking out enemys. This garbage is NOT Splinter Cell. I give it a 1 because there is no zero.

The Best Splinter Cell of its Series

This Splinter Cell game is the best of its series. The mark kills is a great add on. The gameplay controls are more smooth than its predecessors. They removed certain stealth tactics like gripping the walls with your legs. Instead they added a cover to cover feature, which isn't bad at all. There are more weapons to collect and upgrade. The campaign mode is short, but the Multiplayer makes up for the slack. I give the game 8/10 and its definitely a game to rent.

Sam Fisher meets Jack Bauer

I titled my review "Sam Fisher meets Jack Bauer" for one main reason. It is now my dream (that will likely never happen) that the team who made Splinter Cell Conviction should make a game based off of the TV show 24. The only thing that kept Conviction from being a more true to the style and setting of 24 than the actual PS2 24 game is that it isn't based on real time, which the PS2 24 game attempted to portray. Other than that, if you, like me, are a fan of 24 and have dreams of living out Jack Bauer style super agent stuff, this game is as close as you can get to it on the market today. That out of the way, even if you are not interested in 24, the show or the game, Splinter Cell Conviction is simply put the perfection of the stealth action genre. I am a fan of the genre, from Metal Gear to playing stealth classes in games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout to the Splinter Cell series. I love stealth action. At one time, I would have said the X-Box game Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was the ultimate stealth game (as well as the best of the series). If you want pure stealth, as in game over if you are spotted stealth, then that remains true. Where Conviction shines is by not making stealth the only focus of the gameplay. Instead, this time, Sam Fisher uses stealth as one of many tools in his arsenal to take down each enemy like a panther hunting his prey. I've never played a game that made me feel more badass.

The package is awesome, if you are willing to try everything. The single player story is on the short side. But considering I wanted to play it again immediately after beating it actually made its length not a problem. But the fun really just starts there. This game comes packed with some of the best 2 Player Cooperative game play I have ever seen. Ranging from a prequel co-op campaign, to several team based cooperative and adversarial modes. And for you offline gamers, yes, you can play split screen with a pal.

This will be a contender for Game of the Year.

This is a new look at the Splinter Cell series. It took a while but I warmed up soon enough. The game is very, very short. Very fun but short. The online capabilities shine through here. I can't get enough, except I already did. 10-15hrs of gameplay was enough to send it back. Great game, better online and an awesome weekend...

I've always enjoyed the Splinter Cell series..own all of the games. The gameplay and storyline is great! The best thing I like about this game prior to the other games is the stealth. You now have better options to choose were to move to keep hidden or cover. This game is well worth adding to the collection.

As one of my favorite franchises out there I was filled with anticipation for its release, Untill the game actually arrived in the mail. What happened I cant help but ask over and over again. Was there something wrong with the original build of the franchise. Gone are the days of running up walls and doing cool stealth tricks based on your personal skill set. Instead we get a dumbed down version that auto completes every action for you. I keep wanting to take control of sam fisher but instead the AI does it for me. Now I have to say the game isnt complete garbage. They have added many new features of the game like the interagations which adds excitement to my gameplay. I recommend a play through but if your looking for great multiplay action you need to look past this one. gone are the days of mercs vs spies instead Splintercell only offers a two player mode which is slightly entertaining at best.

This wasn't necessarily a bad game, but it wasn't a good game either. I like stealth games and this was sort of a stealth game... I guess. I finished it because I was currently not playing anything else. I never got into the story and didn't really care for any of the characters. A good rental at best and an ok way to spend a rainy weekend.

story: 7, ok but nothing special

graphics: 7, good but the game fading to black and white got annoying after a while, and so did the writing/movies on the walls

sound: 7, repetitive music, and the enemies talked way too much revealing their positions and removing some of the challenge

gameplay: 7, the stealth was ok but the "action" segments were lame and damaged the overall experience.

overall: 7, some people will love it no matter what and others won't. worth a rent if you have nothing better to do

SC Conviction is terrible

I dont believe Tom Clancy would do this 2 me and my friends. We love SC its also one of my favorite games but conviction ruined it. SC Double Agent is amazing. Even Chaos Therory was Excellent. The point of splinter cell is to 2 stealthy not F------ shoot up the place and go in loud. If u want a shooter play Cod Graw Rainbow or Gears. Conviction is awful, single player and co-op can only be so fun. U will get bored of this game in a week no lie. I definitely wouldn't have got this game if it wasnt for the amazing Graw beta coming out. Conviction was definitly a drop in the SC campaign. The worst worst worst worst worst part of conviction is that they took out 3v3 spy vs. mercs!!! 3v3 spy vs mercs is the best thing is SC and they took it out in conviction and replaced it with spy vs spy. That is the worst thing i ever heard of, who wants to vs ur clone (Terrible). This broke my heart is two. This is the one major reasons my friends didnt purchase this game. I really hope they make another SC very soon with 3v3 spy vs mercs or atleast make an update or a DLC (downloadable Content) to put on Conviction.

For as much time as they spent making this game, ultimately it's the new direction Ubisoft tried to take the franchise in that really fell short. Upgradable weapons are cool, advancing the story on walls of the environtment is very innovative, but what made Splinter Cell fun is now gone. Hard to play stealth when you repeatedly get locked in a small area surounded by 5-10 enemies that already know you're there.

Controls are decent but there are times of frustration where you crash through a window instead of quietly opening it resulting in formentioned 5-10 guys killing you quickly. Camera can be an issue at the most inopportune times.

Storyline feels like a cliffnote version as it jumps from level to level. As an owner of all three Splinter Cell games for the original XBox as well as Double Agent for the 360, I'm sad to say this is the first Splinter Cell that won't make it in the library.

This Game Was A big disappointment. Yes it is fun sneaking around, hiding and stealth killing people but the combat sucks. You would think 8 pistol round to the chest would kill but no. Also shooting people just isn't fun. The third person element sucks. Its hard to feel like an assassin when you need to shoot some one 1000 times. This is a must try because who knows you might not care about combat but I would not recommend a buy. If you want a stealth game with awesome combat try Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

This graphically beautiful game is very much like watching a movie: It's scripted and as long as I don't deviate one iota from the obvious plotline, I'm allowed to accept whatever is handed my way. Point and click and the cutscene shows me the way. I'm given guns I don't request and am warned to use silencers but silencers bring on waves of enemies, except when they don't. I play the same levels over and over and over and over again. I'm bored. Really bored. Beyond bored. I try all the difficulty levels, but I'm still watching a movie that wants me to play along and just push the button ... do as you are told. Finally, a move of my own that I truly enjoy: Point at the eject button and EXECUTE. Next game, please.

I haven't played any of the Splinter Cells since the second one way back when. I was pleased to find this Splinter Cell followed the same sneak and cover formula that made the first two so fun. Plus a few new moves in addition to the fast paced gun battles I'd say this is a winner! Rent it for sure, and you'll probably want to keep it!

This is the greatest spinter cell yet! Many people dont lke the new changes if you really love the tedious crud in the origanials you will hate this game if you hated it like me you will love this. The only problem that i can see is that the black and white feature is vary annoying because when you first start you cant really see, you get use to it. The other thing is give us NIGHT VISION, sure the new googles are great but you cant see when you are moving. This is at least a rent i bought and im not dissapointed. :]

I liked the old splinter cells so i was a bit stand offish at first. However after about an hour I was sucked into a great story. The graphics really shine and the voice acting is also top notch. Playability is also very solid as well.

Online is pretty good, it suffers from the limited amount of players each game type allows... two. The old Chaos theory allowed a max of four, but don't get me started on Mercs vs. Spies... I miss that feature ALOT. Co-op story is very fun with a great twist at the end.

All in all it's a great game. I miss Mercs vs. Spies... but who doesn't. It could have been longer and replay value is low to medium. If you are a fan of Sam fisher... or if you like stealth/action games give this one a shot, it's worth it.

Splinter Cell Conviction, Not as stealthy

I preordered this game a while ago, picked it up played it. I love it. It's badass, has great online gameplay, awesome character custimization. But the Only problem is during some missions in single player, there will be parts where you have to kill about 7 guys which is not as stealthy anymore. That happens a lot in online co-op. It's a good game but doesn't meet the splinter cell standards that I liked.

Rent it it's a good game thats all I'm saying.

After the last two Splinter Cell games Ubisoft did i had high hopes for this game.
However i was wrong. It is no longer Splinter Cell, It has become nothing more then a 3rd person Shooter, Stealth is dead in this game.
Splinter Cell was my favorite Stealth game, One of the few to have truly Stealth gameplay, But Splinter Cell Conviction took it away.
How is Stealth dead in this game?
1) No more having to worry about making noise. You can run around making noise and no one cares. Unless you go around shooting your gun. But running, Jumping, Breaking windows, Knocking things over. No one notices.
2) Dead bodies, Cant move them, Hide them, Well there's no need, Because no one ever notices that there guys are dead. If there ever do, No big deal they just go OMG one of our guys are dead, Oh well.
3) No cool Stealth moves, The only real thing is a hand to hand action that is all automatic and boring. Then a shooting move that is the same over and over and is all automatic. There is two more but its the same thing automatic and boring.
4) No Stealth gadgets. Well you do have a sticky camera you never need because the Gameplay does not call for it, Also you have your goggles, With them you can see in the dark, Not really, And see past walls, Unless your moving then it all becomes blurry and you cant see anything. Also gives you a bad headache after a bit.
Well thats just a few things that is all gone. Along with many other things i don't have the time to write down.
Oh wait there is one thing they left in, You can hide in the dark, WOW.
like i said Stealth is dead in this game.
Story line in dull, Nothing that makes you really care about whats going on. All the twist and turns are bad, Nothing shocks you at all.

I thought i was buying a Splinter Cell game not what ever this has become.

This game is GREAT! If you like pulling your hair out of your head trying to figure out where the developers want you to go that is. I had forgotten why I haven't played a splinter cell title in a long time. This one made me remember very quickly. The last straw was at the reception desk at thrid echelon. You have to hurry past the gates b4 you get trapped. Oh BTW, there are 3 guards to prevent this. After dying 4 times and having suffer talking to the secretary EACH AND EVERYTIME!!!!!!!, I took the game out and put it back in its sleve. Thanks Splinter Cell team!
