Who Would've Guessed Tom Clancy Could Mess Up?

Author and current game designer Tom Clancy was born and raised and currently still lives in my home state, so it's easy for me to want to play games by him, even though I have yet to read any of his books. Of course this is the first one of his games I've ever played and I have to say I'm disappointing. It's not the gameplay or strong use of language in ways I do not care for so much as the game just doesn't always do what I want. There are sections that ask me to do certain actions to move forward, however when I press the indicated button nothing happens. I'm asked to press A to give Vic a boost, nothing happens. I'm asked to press B to crouch and take cover, but nothing happens when I do nothing happens. It didn;t matter how many times I pressed the buttons, no matter how hard or long I pressed or held them down, it just didn't do anything, and I have to say it really annoyed me. I was hoping to be able to enjoy the game, maybe find it to be an American version of Metal Gear Solid, but I can't play it if it's just not going to respond, how can I? I don't know why it's doing that, but I do not recommend it thanks to that. The only viable thing to this game is the beautiful graphics and visuals and great story telling.
