Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

I rented this game in hopes of a similar experience of that as R6 Vegas. I was totally disappointed and in less than 3 hours I shipped the game back to gamefly. The controls are horrible, framerate is choppy and the maps are way way too dark. I do not hate "stealth" games, but this one takes the cake. Its darn near immpossible (even on easy setting) to finish a level in 1 or even 2 or 3 tries without tripping off some stupid alarm. Game is plain not fun and doesnt even compare to Rainbow Six Vegas, which was amazing and exactly how a tactical shooter should be. All in all it lacks the feel of a next gen shooter in its lackluster framerate and poor textures. The gameplay is slow and feels clumsy. The storyline is great but repeating maps and other tedious tasks such as "open the door" become tedious and waste of time.

Save your Q spot and do NOT rent this title. Trust me it is really that bad.

Uninspired graphics, clunky controls, woefully erratic AI, jerky frame rate - have even diehard Splinter Cell fans found this a thrilling experience? There are some nicely done facial details (the sweat on Sam's brow and the psychotic glare in his eyes), and tense moments, but ultimately you play in spite of the game's flaws, not because of some eye-popping leap in quality. The flat weapons and boring repetitiveness of "non-lethal" attacks, computer hacking, and lock picking are particularly disappointing. Another frustrating title to add to the ever-growing library of PS3 games whose manufacturers failed to utilize the horsepower of the system.
