Timeshift for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

As I popped the Time Shift disk in to my PS3, my friends and I were talking about the TimeSplitters series and I kept on doing Sgt. Cortez's famous line from Future Perfect, "It's TIME to SPLIT!" We were ready to have some good old fashioned FPS sci-fi time warpin' fun.

Well... That's what this game is. It's a really old fashioned sci-fi FPS with ugly graphics, dry formulaic levels, and a pause/rewind gimmick that had great potential but failed to save an otherwise incredibly boring game.

From the very first level you can see that, while the time warp feature is very cool, the rest of the game is a box full of uninspired cliches. The heroic ally characters all look like identical clones who shop at the "Only One Kind of Shirt and One Kind of Pants," store. While I can accept that the villians are uniformed soldiers, they're about as bright as Star Wars storm troopers. The level designs, the awfull music in the background, the canned sound effects, the grainy almost monochrome graphics - welcome to sucky mountain.

So, save yourself some time. Don't bother with this one.

this game could have a lot going for it, the time travel mechanic is fun to play with, however it feels too limited, and the story doesn't make sense. If this game had a great story, more freedom to use your time travel abilites then I would definatly recommend it, however check out some gameplay videos, if it looks interesting try it, if not then don't bother
