First, I have to say the IGN review is awful. That said, I also have to clear up what he said about the "rented DLC". When you play online you'll earn coins you can use to buy boost pins and to play rounds in the "Bonus courses" AKA the "DLC". Sure you can buy coins with real money and get ahead, but then you might as well be buying the courses outright. EA's giving us a chance to earn the ability to unlock unlimited rounds by playing the game. What's wrong with that? Loaded on the HDD the game loads twice as fast compared to TW 12 and the pace of the game is just right. If you're renting this at the moment like me, it's encouraged to get the online pass cause there's so much more to earn and enjoy. This includes the coins need to unlock the "DLC" courses. You can't earn the coins offline or use the coins to buy boost pins. Yeah the characters looks a little more Ken dool like but the environment is a huge improvement and overshadows the negative. Beautiful detail. Kinect is just a bonus and best played with friends, it shouldn't affect the rating of the game. Pretty much every sports game from now on is going to have Kinect support. Your not forced to use it. The new swing system has a small learning curve, play in Amateur to start off your career for a while and you'll master it. If you liked TW12, you'll love TW13. It's hard to find a negative that stands out so I'll give it a 10.
