Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is the latest edition to the line of video golf games made by EA Sports. If you are an avid golfer or weekend hacker, you have probably dreamt about playing Pebble Beach, Pinehurst or even the old course at St. Andrews, Scotland. Tiger Woods 08 allows you to do just that and not have to shell out the ridiculous greens fees even if you were fortunate to come up with a tee time. With eight inches of snow out my front window and no chance of hitting the local muni anytime soon, this game was a great way to work on my game as I wait for April and sunshine to come around. You can play a complete PGA Tour season, playing on every course that the pros play or take on a series of golf scenarios in the Tiger Challenge. As you advance, your game will improve and you will soon be earning big money to buy new clubs, clothes, balls and even sunglasses. Each new item improves your overall game with power, accuracy and consistency. Before long I was hitting the ball straight down the fairway over 300 yards, making eagles and beating the likes of Mike Weir, Annika Sorenstam, B.J. Holmes, and Colin Montgomery. Tiger watch out its only a matter of time until your mine.
Senseless violence? Unless you count whacking a tree with your three iron, then Tiger Woods is violence free. Additionally there were no issues with any foul language. My only concern was the tight fitting clothing that most, if not all the lady golfers were wearing. There is no occult or supernatural in this game. No real moral/ethical issues either. In conclusion, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is a great game that the whole family can enjoy together. If you are looking for an Xbox 360 game for Dad for father’s day that he can play with the kids, this may be the one. You can even put Dads photo into the game face system and he can take on pros as an in game character. No bogey's here - nearly a hole-in-one! Enjoy!
