Golfing Inside Your House, Made Easy

Let's face it, with everything costing so much these days, who really has the money to go out golfing when we want? Also, who the heck has the time, since most of the time we're at work. Well Tiger Woods 08 gives us a little tiny taste of where we wish we were. It gives you the ability to play a fun little game of golf right on your PS3. It even has a neat little feature that lets you put your face on a created player and bring her/him up through the ranks.

Now that we got all the cute stuff down, let's go a bit more into this. It had the makings of a great Tiger title, the problem is that EASports has decided that they were going to add features that sound neat and fun, but generally are a pain in the caboose. Such as putting your face on a golfer. Not only do you have to pray that the "BETA" website will work right, but that it will even upload your picture when you do manage to log on. This was quite frustrating and difficult. Which took a lot away from the game right away.

Next, the swinging the club with the analog stick. As sensative as the PS3 stick is, it's so impossible to hit consistently straight drives and irons. You tend to slice more than a bunch of show-off kids on a golf range. It's very annoying.

Overall though, the game, when you find your niche, can be fun, and there's a lot to be said about the new online features. Overall I gave this game a 7 for the fresh ideas and fun game play, but not a perfect score. There's a lot more to do, and they need to bring back fantasy courses. EA needs to learn quick, listening to your customers is usually money in the bank, and going off some guys design plan is usually a bad idea. :)

TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR 08
What a sound effort from EA sports on this years Tiger Woods game the changes are subtle but noticeable on both XBOX 360 and PS3 the return of classic controls and additional online features this is the best Tiger Woods that any system has seen playability and maybe longevity are key. One thing when will EA learn to add the rest of the courses such as Myrtle Beach and Of Course the MASTERS Iwant a green jacket how will I ever be as great or better than tiger if I cant win a green jacket mabe in TIGER WOODS 2010 The golf oddesy. Overall great game even my wife plays wich really makes great Fore play cya next time.

Same ol' Game

This may be very similar to '07, but that isn't a bad thing. This game is highly addictive, with plenty of changes to help you make it through part of the PGA season. If you liked '07 don't even bother renting this game, just buy it. The ability to literally put your face in the game is incredible, the likeness is amazing.

Tiger challenge is changed ever so slightly, to where the tedious round after round is replaced by somewhat tedious round/personal challenge. It's not great but it is a slight improvement. The driving range is the same... almost to the last bent-grass-green. The fictional characters are back, Pops, Danny, and the other annoying ones.
Tiger has never looked more like Tiger, and although the other players don't quite compare to the detail of tiger, they have never looked better either.

Game play is has drastically improved with much more accurate draw/fade mechanics, which actually help your game in '08!

Week options in the pro shop return with beyond generic accessories, and far to few options for a "next gen" 2nd addition game. And despite that I still recommend buying this game.

Much is anticipated for next year, but let me be the first to tell you, EA will completely drop the ball, so don't get your hopes up, they clearly don't know how to produce a "next gen" experience.
