Golfing Inside Your House, Made Easy

Let's face it, with everything costing so much these days, who really has the money to go out golfing when we want? Also, who the heck has the time, since most of the time we're at work. Well Tiger Woods 08 gives us a little tiny taste of where we wish we were. It gives you the ability to play a fun little game of golf right on your PS3. It even has a neat little feature that lets you put your face on a created player and bring her/him up through the ranks.
Now that we got all the cute stuff down, let's go a bit more into this. It had the makings of a great Tiger title, the problem is that EASports has decided that they were going to add features that sound neat and fun, but generally are a pain in the caboose. Such as putting your face on a golfer. Not only do you have to pray that the "BETA" website will work right, but that it will even upload your picture when you do manage to log on. This was quite frustrating and difficult. Which took a lot away from the game right away.
Next, the swinging the club with the analog stick. As sensative as the PS3 stick is, it's so impossible to hit consistently straight drives and irons. You tend to slice more than a bunch of show-off kids on a golf range. It's very annoying.
Overall though, the game, when you find your niche, can be fun, and there's a lot to be said about the new online features. Overall I gave this game a 7 for the fresh ideas and fun game play, but not a perfect score. There's a lot more to do, and they need to bring back fantasy courses. EA needs to learn quick, listening to your customers is usually money in the bank, and going off some guys design plan is usually a bad idea. :)
