Thrillville offers a bigger package than at first glance -- there are arcade games, mini-games, profit challenges and the opportunity to design tracks and coasters.
It is NOT RCT, which is a big bonus! I don't care for the Tycoon games.
Overall, it was an excellent experience. The soundtrack is one of the best ones out there, gamewise. You'll find yourself wanting to visit certain sections of the park just to hear some of the tunes. Thumbs up to LucasArts for using some indie bands and choosing music that actually FIT a theme park.
The one downside (saving it from a perfect 10 in my book) was some of the GAMES challenges. I'm horrible at first-person shooters, and I dislike them. But to attain the required bronze/silver/gold medals to earn rewards, I had to rack up too high of a score for someone who is truly BAD at shooters. A nice option would be to switch game options. I'm an Ace at golf, so why not let my 5 hole-in-ones be for the gold medal or something?
Some of the games were deliberate rip-offs of classics, like 1942 and Ultima.
I rented this game on a whim, and I ended up buying it. It's a quick play to open all 5 parks, but there's plenty to refine and redo once you have achieved this.
