The game starts out in choosing your character. From a five year-old girl/boy - 16 year-old girl/boy. I did like that I could change my clothes and look a bit; but as the game begins you are put in charge of a theme park -blink- what idiot puts a child or teen in charge of running a theme park? This premise is ridiculous.
The game is extremely restricting. There's only small patches of spaces that allow you to build restrooms, food , drink and game stands to let your public relieve themselves, find some lunch, quench their thirst & play some games. The last 3 items bring in the revenue that lets you build the rides. I never found myself close to running out of money.
The game also restricts w/the power supply. While a good idea, just poor implementation. Power can get used up quickly. I had enough for one roller coaster a small carnival ride, one rest room, game stand & the drink & food stand. That was it, power was gone.
Don't forget you also have to make friends w/park visitors them, challenge them to races & games. Ask about the park & improvements - you also have to hire and do training of janitors & the "cheerleaders"? I didn't see the point to having cheerleaders, but the training part was quite fun - hard to pick up, but fun. The janitor's training was a lot harder but it was fun to suck up whatever that mush was maybe Bigfoot yellow snot? I dunno. You also have to play all the games & ride all the rides. Sure that's fun, but tedious.
My suggestions - kip this title & go for Roller coaster Tycoon or find a copy of Theme Park. You will get a lot more pleasure out of them than you will here. I found this aggravating & restricting - something RCT don't have & it's why it stands above the rest. -sigh- ashame really, I think it could have been a good title if they had gone the RCT route more.
