Very Good

Masterful Writing and Voice Acting

There are a million games out there that can deliver you a decent story and fantastic graphics. It will consume your time to a point where you find nothing is missing. Plodding your way you find yourself at the same result of every major game you've ever played. A disappointing ending.

Enter "The Walking Dead." When I first loaded the game up, I dealt with the frustration that is video lag. I discovered it was because I was on the standard 4 gig system, which apparently didn't respond well to the game. Fine, I can handle it. I'll work my way through, even with the lag. The result? The best story I've ever experience in a zombie series yet.

You play as Lee Everett, a man who lost control once and was sentenced as a murderer. From the opening scene you see the regret in his eyes, and truly feel his fear as he fast approaches the rest of his life.

Then things take a twist, you are now at the mercy of wreckage and must make a quick escape, because the undead are coming. Fleeing you meet the person who makes surviving worth it, the 8 year old Clementine.

You are then faced with decisions that this little girl gets to witness. You find yourself seeking to be morally sound, so you might make this little girl smile. Her simple nod is enough to make you feel successful. This game encompasses what it is to live with your choices, and your regrets.

The game is designed around "The Walking Dead" comic books. The art is very cleanly done with all the bells and whistles of the comic. The voice acting is amazing. There was a clear direction in this game given to these actors, and they fulfilled it, brilliantly. The soundtrack fills the mood well, and offers a strong emotional response to certain situations.

The 5 episodes are unstoppable. You simply can't stop. When you hear the familiar words "Previously, on The Walking Dead" you know you can't stop.

I give this game an 8 out of 10 simply because of the technical issues that many experienced. Brilliant game

If you thought this game wasn't worth it, then you were looking for the wrong game. This game may not have the zombie killing that everyone believes it should, but it has much more then that. From the beginning you feel for the characters, hoping that they get through the mess ahead. It builds up one of the best written characters I have seen in a long time and that comes from the little girl, Clementine. She grabs a hold of you and makes you feel for her throughout the game. Lee, the main man, also makes you feel for him. He feels bad about his past and attempts to make it better by taking on the task of taking care of a little girl. The choices make you wonder what if and the fact that everything you decide in each episode affects the episodes down the line, makes it even better. It reminds me of Mass Effect in that sense. The controls may get a little annoying at times but don't let that take away the pure awesomeness in storytelling that is The Walking Dead

This is less of a game and more of an interactive story. So if you're looking for tons of gameplay, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you're looking for interesting story, character development, and top-notch voice-acting; then you should like this game.

The shooting and puzzles are pretty easy. Anyone with a lick of experience playing videogames should have no problems. (Except the stupid Y axis won't invert, who does that!?)

I found this satisfying the way I might like to watch a TV show or movie. The choices you make will have consequences down the road; but ultimately I don't think it substantially changes the story line. I'd give it a higher mark if the gameplay was more satisfying.
