This game might have been really good when it came out, but compared to what's out now, there's almost no reason to rent this. The movie was good, but I wasn't a huge fan, so I'm surprised I was compelled to rent this. This is actually my second time, the first time through I didn't feel like I gave it a chance after review the critic reviews.
The bottom line is that the controls and gameplay were just backwards from any other 1st or 3rd person shooter, so I was constantly firing my gun instead of opening doors, or killing my team on accident. (Yes I did try the different controls in options, but with no way to customize, very frustrating).
Also there's little direction in where to go. The graphics weren't good enough to distinguish what I was actually picking up.
The biggest unique part of the game is the trust system, which I just barely got into, because the whole menu system and icons were just confusing and not flawless.
I really wanted this game to work for me. I wasn't pulling my hair out because it was so bad, but I just felt myself stumbling too much to call it fun.
