This is a great game that [unfortunately] flew under the radar and was not properly promoted or advertised (the two guys that gave this a 1 out of 10 are insane - I suspect they know each other, because I refuse to believe two different guys in a row gave a game that videogame magazine critics on average rate a 8.5 a mere 1 out of 10!) This game is 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' meets 'Resident Evil 2!' Fun, frightening and keeps you playing. The only problem is the 360 degree camera angles that we're used to in this kind of game (GTA:SA, HALO, Godfather, Scarface, etc.) to look behind you or around you, you have to hold the X button (but you quickly get use to it - and because you can hold X while walking and shooting it's not a handicap at all). All-in-all a very fun and worth owning or renting game. I give it a 8 out of 10!

This game might have been really good when it came out, but compared to what's out now, there's almost no reason to rent this. The movie was good, but I wasn't a huge fan, so I'm surprised I was compelled to rent this. This is actually my second time, the first time through I didn't feel like I gave it a chance after review the critic reviews.

The bottom line is that the controls and gameplay were just backwards from any other 1st or 3rd person shooter, so I was constantly firing my gun instead of opening doors, or killing my team on accident. (Yes I did try the different controls in options, but with no way to customize, very frustrating).

Also there's little direction in where to go. The graphics weren't good enough to distinguish what I was actually picking up.

The biggest unique part of the game is the trust system, which I just barely got into, because the whole menu system and icons were just confusing and not flawless.

I really wanted this game to work for me. I wasn't pulling my hair out because it was so bad, but I just felt myself stumbling too much to call it fun.

that the controller layout is unbelevibly dumb,,but after you get used to it, or accept, lol,, it is a fun game to play
and i might add if you've seen the movie(w/ Kurt Russel),, the end is really one of the best
