The Sims had me excited at first. Yet about 1 hour into this game, it gets very repetitive and boring. The point of video games is to excite you and to make you wonder what is next. I have dabbled with The Sims and Sim type games in the past, so I figured why not give it a try. With no story or any type of accomplishments besides the repetitiveness of the Challenge rewards there is no sense of accomplishment in this game, except if you are a trophy hunter. It is just controlling some computer generated life that you can have no emotional connection with except frustration. This frustration comes from the game and trophies being extremely glitchy. The fact that it takes a Sim two hours to take a shower and two hours to eat is a joke to me, a simulator should be somewhat realistic. Also the fast forward controls are a pain due to the fact that the second the Sim completes a task, it stops and you have to click it up to your preferred speed again and again and again. Another frustration is that when you tell other Sims in your family what to do, and switch to another, those other Sims decide to ignore you, even if you go to options and put it on puppet mode. Sims is very hard to accomplish anything without either wanting to take a nap yourself due to boredom and frustration. If you are somebody that is a control freak and truly has no life at all, this is the game for you. Yet if you are a normal human being that does value your time and wants a game that you feel excited about playing, excited to know what happens next and not have to tell your character 20 times to clean up a puddle, then please stay far away. I may be harsh with this rating of a 1, but for a company like EA, they should have been much more efficient of the quality of this game rather than trying to con the true Sim fans of 60 dollars and let people enjoy a game, rather than regret the fact that they bought the game. Thank goodness for Gamefly.
