The original Serious Sam games, First and Second Encounter, were originally on PC and then ported to the original Xbox. This is where I played them over and over again. People have labeled this a non-thinking man's shooter, but I disagree. Knowing how to handle huge hoards of enemies simultaneously heroically takes thought. So think about that. If you just want to try it out and play the highlights, go for Second Encounter and the newest Serious Sam 3. I would do it in that order to build upon the old with the new. My least favorites, but still liked were the little arcade spin-off and the Jewel of the Nile DLC. JOTN is short and more puzzle than action. Except that the last level finale made it a lot better. People are clearly unaware how fun this game is with such few rentals. Rent if you like fun fast paced action.

There is not much to say except for, guts, guts , guts and more gore! This Game is flippen' awesome! There are almost to many guns to count on all these games all together! There guns are amazing and perfectly powered! And yes I know some people say this game is lame. But if you don't like red blood and gore , you can either turn it off. or change the color of the blood, gore and gibs. And if you don't like crosshairs, you can turn those off too! Theres no words to describe the first time you play all there's games except pure adrenaline! It makes you fell like a BAD-A! There detail and complexity of each map, looks very well put together. There are hundreds upon thousands of enemies on-screen at a time! This game is worth playing again, and again, and again. And two player mode is even more fun too! I would pay a good $60 dollars for each of these games here! I would say rent it. I mean for crying out loud! My little brother and he's 10 AND HE PLAYS THIS! The game is a solid 40-50ish hours to beat it all together! Its a 10 rent!
