~PROS~: The toony graphics were more beautiful than I expected. The handling of the character and camera were easy as cake. The facial expressions were creative enough to make me LOL multiple times..... ~CONS~: The story was significantly shorter than all other Zelda titles, including Majora's Mask (except Majora's Mask had side quests to find masks, whereas Wind Waker has nothing but RUPEES). The sea is not hazel anywhere, but a constant mind-sharpening BLUE EVEN when it storms. The dungeons were short, and few in number. It is a big world, but there is no getting lost. With the supple amount of rupees EVERYWHERE, it is easy to complete your world map early on. The accompanying hints are no riddles- they straight up tell you where to go, and that ruins the need to search for other maps that specialize in the quest. There was no deep emotional connection, no immersion into the story. The use of the Wind Waker was limited to one song. All other songs were played once or twice, and then they were forgotten. The characters were all very isolated from one another. Example: after winning, a lot of emotions are passed around, and a special character shows up to make some EXTREMELY depressing statements about how they wish things were different. This scene had the potential to make one cry, IF ONLY THIS DEEP, TOUCHING character had more than but one BREIF appearance earlier. This lack of a bond can leave one feeling hollow, which is not the way to end a game! The sailing was also boring. You press one button, and there is no more need for the controller. Go ahead and put it down for a few, get yourself a beverage. Every sea monster is inaccurate, weak, slow and limited to their niche. The sharks and giant octos are the only exceptions, but their number pales in comparison to other monsters, and they still surprisingly do very little damage and can be ignored. Since all this is so terrible, the makers added a mode where you can PLAY AGAIN! with different treasure locations.

Even better than the original

The art style pops in this remake for Wii U, the gameplay is tight and responsive, if one didn't know better, it feels and looks brand new. With a story rivaling titles like a link between worlds, twilight princess.. this is a great addition to any library. The one point was deducted for lack of replayablity.

This is one of my all time FAVORITE games. I loved it on GameCube and the Wii U remake is even better. Beautiful game. Fun to play. It's Zelda? What's not to love?
