I've played a lot of games...I mean, a lot. I'm a pc gamer and I will admit, I WAS an xbox fanboy for the majority of my life. I bought a ps3 just for The Last of US, and it was worth every penny.
It's absolutely mind-blowing how gorgeous this game is. Both visuals and gameplay were amazing. At times, I found myself holding my breathe due to the tense close-quarters-combat and amazing story moments. Joel and Ellie are both amazing characters that you, or at least I, wanted to see succeed and keep fighting. The game had me tearing up within the first 15 minutes.
The ending, with NO SPOILERS, was the only part that made me judge. For the first time in my gaming history, I was unsure of how I felt about the ending, and I mean this in the best way possible. It made me think of the human condition and the way this world, even in the apocalypse, molds people to make the decisions that they do.

Naughty Dog really outdid itself. This game sucks you and and never lets you go. The first ten minutes give you a swirl of emotions that give you the illusion that the events are ACTUALLY HAPPENING TO YOU. The pain of loss, the confusion of a mob, the tension between government and lowly survivor are all met with distinguishable emotions. This is the right game to send the PS3 off and welcome the future. The Last of Us gives a new look to story telling, game making and just blows you away. Not just a must-play. A must-experience. This becomes more than just a game in the end. Prepare for what the hype has all been about. Keep hidden, conserve your ammo and assess each situation to give yourself the advantage. Fear the dead, fight the living. Good luck.
The last of us is the story of a middle aged man named Joel who ends up being partnered with teenaged Ellie during a post-apocalyptic zombie era. Now, while zombie games may seem to be more redundant and cliched than original, this game delves into the characters and the lives of everyone around them and how far we are willing to go to fight for our survival and the survival of others. The Last of Us is shaping up to be the Best Game of 2013, and is an absolute must-see, must-play, must-own experience. The Last of Us is a game that you will never forget!
