The Last of US was without a doubt in my mind my favorite game. The dialogue was very interesting and very well done. The graphics in this game did not change from cutscene to gameplay, they were always stunning. The Last of Us is one of those games you will want to play more than once. My only minor complaint was that friendly AI weren't too smart nor were they too helpful. The enemy AI were pretty dumb sometimes but these complaints were very minor and once you get into the game you either won't notice this or you will just simply look past it because of how fantastic this game is. Many people encountered bugs in the game but during both of my play throughs i have yet to see any bugs.

Story: The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic plot set in the United States and revolves around 2 characters: Joel & Ellie. A parasitic fungi outbreak has afflicted humans globally. The story starts with Joel, a middle-aged man, attempting to escape his neighborhood when the outbreak first occurs but tragedy befalls him. The game then fast forwards 20 years later with an aged Joel. Shortly after, he crosses paths with Ellie, a teenage girl who is to be delivered to a faction called The Fireflies. They have a plan to find a cure and Ellie is the key. The majority of the game focuses on Joel and Ellie's journey together as they combat various hostiles, meet new people, and their evolving relationship over time; while trying to survive.
Graphics/Controls: The graphics are impressive, particularly with the detail of the characters in the cinematics. Facial features and expressions are outstanding and makes the dialogue in cutscenes more appreciable. The controls are fairly solid but can be a bit difficult to utilize at first as there is a decent learning curve to it.
Gameplay: The Last of Us is a 3rd person survival, action/adventure, suspense game with emphasis on shooting, close-quarter combat, and scavenging. The player's inventory consists of slots for firearms and equipment. Scavenging is an important element in this game because ammo and supplies are scarce. However, there are certain items scattered throughout the game that the player can collect in finite quantities and use to craft equipment (i.e. medikits), which is a cool game mechanic. Furthermore, by accumulating parts and tools, the player is able to upgrade weapons at a worker's table, and by finding supplements, the player can upgrade his character's abilities. The game offers the player the luxury of choosing which way they'd like to contend with enemies. This game simulates a post-apocalyptic environment beautifully. It's amazing with good length and replay value. Definitely GotY-worthy

Hey, if you're wondering if this game is worth getting. Whether its for the story, or the gameplay. It is completely worth it all, and worth the money if you buy it, this game has a very touching story, that won't make you cry or anything, but will show you exactly what would happen if the world was the way it portrays it. The gameplay is profound, and you need to think about how you engage your enemies, Whether they be human or not. Supplies ARE limited, so you'll always be on the edge if you spend them recklessly. This game is currently most likely to be candidate for game of the year, but honestly, it's probably already won.
