You should already be enticed to play this by now (with all the positive reviews), so I'll put in my 2 cents of what I felt about the game. The game isn't fun in my opinion. My idea of fun is Borderlands 2 with friends, Call of Duty online, or even God of War (any of them reallly). This game's gameplay is very boring to me in a sense that the best way to go about this is stealth and it gets boring after a while (especially with a number of failed attempts). So having said that, why did I rate this game 10? A few reasons that more than excelled - the story, the graphics, and the concept. Without spoilers, all I will say is the story is amazing, thrilling, and gets you attached to the characters enough that you are on the edge of your seat any time they're in danger (which happens a lot). The graphics speak for themselves - beautiful. And lastly, the concept of this game. One of the things I love about this game is the constant rush and thrill of it. Whatever you do in the game does not pause the rest of the world. Taking out your backpack and scrolling through your inventory is done in real time, reading notes and journals you found laying around takes place in real time, crafting things from your inventory takes place in real time, which puts you in this mindset of constant danger without a break.
I know, many will say "If the story is the only good part, why don't you just watch a movie! Games are supposed to be fun and not about the story", and that has a little truth to it; however, you will not have the same thrill of watching this as a movie rather than playing it as a game, because playing it immerses you into the story, puts you into Joel's (main character) head, and makes you almost believe that you are responsible for what happens to everyone because you are in control. It's shorter than I thought it would be, and now that it's over, I'm a little sad that I won't continue playing it (which should tell you just how much you get attached to the characters).
