So much greatness packed in such a small space

I must first say that I was hesitant to even play this game because of the developer Naughty Dog, however after playing this game I will go on record as saying this is one of my newest favorite titles.

Though it is lacking a little in the story and creation department the wide open maps and stealth aspects make you sit on the edge of your seat at all times.

The one thing I would recommend is to have some headphones when you play or play when you,re alone with the TV volume up, sound is so important in this game.

Visually the in game and cut scene graphics do not change much so it keeps you involved in playing for a long time.

On the other hand i would have liked a few more options on the weapon upgrades and maybe even a few more combat weapons. The same can go for item slots and backpack space, just a couple more would have made it an entirely different game.

Now that my fan comments are done time for the critic. All in all this game gets high marks for visuals, environment, skill and play-ability but does lose a couple in combat and content (DLC is not included so it will not be judged). So I award this game a 9.3 overall.

If someone asks what games they should play, this one will be on that list, so give it a try, never know you may be like me and end up liking it.

This is exactly what I claim it to be...solid. A good title, true to the genre with minimal twists that make it stand out, and keep you wanting to know what in gods name is gonna happen next.
Characters are instantly amazing. They keep you engaged and actually make you have feel empathy for whats happening to them.
Visually stunning. From seasons changing, to character models. To the environments, to the incredible detail of when you die. Epic.
Sounds fx. Wow, just wow. I had may Virtual 5.1 headset on for this game. i wouldn't play it unless I could use em. Creepy sounds, beautiful sounds, crazy sounds. Just awesome.
Gameplay is fun. Period. You can go through this game over and over and over and never really play it the same way. Whether wanting to use grenades or break out the sawed off. Its always rewarding when you get through a situation.
Game elements that make it stand out. In a genre market dominated by other titles and Walking Dead. Scavenging is crucial. Upgrading what you already have. Increasing on what you dont. You'll find your self taking extra time to pick up what you need to craft your arsenal. Making bombs/mines out of nails and other shrapnel, first aid with fresh bandages and alcohol, shivs for breaking locks or to get out of a sticky situation. Upgrading, upgrading, upgrading. Each time you do. You just feel better and more awesome.
My only complaint is how linear the title is. Understand everyone has an opinion and mine on game titles are options. I like feeling as though my decisions good or bad take different directions on the game. Thats not what happens until the very end. i do mean the very end. There you have it
Totally recommend. You wont be bored for a moment. As always thanks for your time. Game On!

Best Game I've Played On The PS3

I've been a member of GF for a couple years now and have never written a review for any game, but this game deserves my 1st review. I won't be able to do this game any justice, but I'll give it my best shot.

The Last of Us takes place in the year 2033, twenty years after a fungal-based, brain-altering pandemic has spread and infected most of the world's population. You start off by meeting Joel, one of the main characters, and his partner in crime Tess.

After sneaking out of the compound where they reside, you get your first look at the world 20 years after the fungus has already spread and wreaked havoc on everyone and everything. Nature has already reclaimed the world that humans built and as a result sky scrapers are crumbling, foliage and wildlife fill the empty buildings where humans once lived, city streets are desolate and look like a mixture of a forest growing where a city should be. Joel is thrust into the nightmare that the world has become, when he is asked by a dying friend to look after Ellie. And now the real adventure begins.

The voice acting is remarkable. All the voice actors give every character in the game a true sense of life. You can hear the anger, desperation, sadness, and in few cases the joy or optimism in their voices. Joel and Ellie do an exceptional job at showing character growth. Whereas at the beginning Joel sees Ellie as some kid he was forced to baby sit, slowly but surely you start to notice a more (for lack of a better word) intimate and stronger relationship being forged by both characters. Something you would expect from two strangers forced to trust each other with their lives in order to survive.

There isn't a "main" enemy because you quickly learn that bandits are just as dangerous as the infected that are waiting for you in almost pitch black, abandoned buildings.

If you don't own an expensive sound system my only suggestion for this game would be to at least play it with a headset. You'll thank yourself for
