This game has a fantastic story, plot, and character development. I'm a sucker for post apocalyptic games, particularly those which explore the depravity of mankind during extreme survival situations. This game accomplishes that in a thoughtful and unique manner. But enough about the story, which is to say simply fantastic.
The gameplay itself becomes a little repetitive. How do we get from this side of the building to that side, or this side of town to that side. Wait, look at all these windows. If we could break the windows...oh wait we aren't able to break the windows and simply cut through in a more direct way. No, you are forced to circle in on your objective in the most indirect and complicated manner possible.
The game does present some interesting areas and people that would be nice to explore in more detail. How do these remaining humans survive, who and what do they trade with, what forms of government and social structures have developed after the collapse of mankind. Oh, well it's not important. I guess a little more Fallout style gameplay would have been nice.
All in all this was an entertaining and at times challenging game to play. The story is compelling and presents a different twist on what is currently a very popular theme. Gameplay is very linear with little choice other than to engage the target from the left, right, middle, or just try and sneak by unseen. All aspects of the story not dealing with some dramatic encounter are cutout all together. Leaving just the most meat and no potatoes.
