This game was so so fun. I was bummed out that it ended. The story is so clear to follow and you grow attached to Ellie and Joel. I loved every level and found it fun. I think you'll like it very much. get it.
I was going into this game with extremely high expectations and The Last of Us exceeded them all. I had no idea the game would be this fun to play, seeing as I was expecting an artsy-fartsy slow-paced game.
I played on Hard mode which really limits your supplies, forcing you to scramble and utilize everything in your inventory. It's a nerve wracking experience which really makes you feel good when you finally clear a room.
The stealth aspect of the game is also nerve-wracking as you really don't want to waste your ammo on these enemies if you get caught.
I've never been more engrossed in a story (excluding Metal Gear Solid) and the minimalistic nature of the game may even surpass MGS in terms of storytelling. Multiple times I got chills from cutscenes and setpieces. The characters are what drives the game and after the game, I feel as if I watched a movie. A fantastic movie.
It's easy to get immersed in the game since the bleak state of the world matches all of its inhabitants and their overall goal: survival. You get the feeling that everyone does what they do because they want to survive, no matter how brutal they have to be.
The gunplay is very Uncharted-esque (seeing as both games are created by Naughty Dog) but the lack of supplies makes you extremely careful with each shot you take.
The game gives you some much needed breaks where Joel and Ellie just walk to their destination and talk. These conversations are always fun to listen to, especially after an intense firefight.
Overall, the game really doesn't have any flaws. A few times I had trouble finding out how to get past a door, but the game tells you where to go after a few minutes so it's not even a big deal. The Last of Us is a masterpiece of gaming and deserves every bit of praise it gets.
