As an avid hip hop fan, I thought this looked like fun as I generally have enjoyed the Kinect dance games. Overall, I liked it. The choreography is more up my alley than a lot of the dance games, as far as the dancing being fun and up tempo. If there's a downside, it's definitely the song list. It's not really for hip hop fans in spite of the title, but more pop and R&B fans. Lots of terrible songs, and it's no fun to dance to bad music. So check the song list before renting. If you can tolerate the fact you're going to get songs by Flo Rida, J-Kwon, New Boyz, Trey Songz and Pitbull but none by Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas and Eminem, there's enough good stuff on here to make it worth a rent.

I would say this is a fun game to play even by yourself (which I did the whole time) so it would probably be even better with friends. I only have a small space that I can play this game in but for the most part the kinect was able to pick my moves up. The songs are good & they have some throwbacks all the way to the 90's. I'm considering buying it as the one dancing game I have for my xbox but I'm waiting until the price drops.
I have to agree with smokeErobinson on this one. Dance Central HAS been dethroned. The song selection in HHDE is much better, & the dance moves almost put Dance Central to shame. Don't get me wrong Dance Central can hold it's own with it's crossover appeal (I own all 3!) But hands down, I think The Hip Hop Dance Experience is going to mop the floor with this one! I already can't wait for the next installment!
