I've been playing video games since I was 6 years old, so I have 20+ years of experience under my belt. Not only that, but I play quite often, so I would consider myself in the Good to Really Good as far as talent goes.
That being said, The Bigs 2 was nearly unplayable from its difficulty. I admit, when I play sports games (which is a LOT), I typically play simulations (Madden 11, NHL 11, NBA Live 10) not arcade style games. But when I put in a game, regardless of genre, I expect to be able to at least compete with the computer on the normal setting.
This is not so with The Bigs 2.
Even turning the game down to its lowest difficulty setting, the CPU pitchers are nearly unhittable, and when you do connect, the fielding AI pretty much snags the ball no matter where it's hit. Pitching to the computer is a bit easier, but I was still giving up 4-5 runs an inning.
Frustrated, I committed myself to learning the gameplay better and at least winning one game. I played for 4 or 5 days doing everything in my power to at least keep the score close. No dice. After a week of being blown out by double digits consistently, I returned it.
For the arcade sports people, I imagine that this has to be fun. But for normal, simulation sports playing people like myself, it was nothing but frustration on a disc.
