It's not great, but it's not terrible either. The meat of the game lacks a certain charm, and the combat is simplistic, but swinging around Manhattan to accomplish good deeds is fun, even if they're the same good deeds over and over again. The story and voice acting are good, and there's loads of stuff to collect and unlock (including some fine comic books, which you can read from cover to cover). I guess it's nice that all the DLC challenges from the other console versions are included on the disc, but, personally, I wasn't all that enthralled by them. Also, there's some pretty atrocious screen tearing at times, and the Gamepad touch sensitivity isn't quite responsive enough.

If you're a big Spider-Man fan, this game is worth a rent (or maybe even a purchase, if you can get it cheap enough). If you're looking for a really excellent superhero game on Wii U, however, pick up "Batman: Arkham City" instead.

Great game except for the radom graphical tears it seems like this no more just a port from the other cosoles, besides the fact you can play off the tv.

Despite the short/medium length story and its glitchy graphics and stale interactions this game offers a lot of activity with side missions and collections so it basically makes up for what it lacks in... Overall a good game.

The Slightly Amazing Remake

The makers of this game realize that it was going to be a rehash of other versions that came out more than 8 months ago.
So, what did they do? They decided to lower the price tag from $60 to $40 – even with some new additions.
IF you haven’t played one of the other versions, here’s how it works.
You play as Spider-Man, and it’s your quest to stop a bunch of mutated monsters and mechanical beasts from destroying New York City. There a main story missions that drive the story as well as small side missions.
The main missions are basically one of two types – either the “go from point A to point B and beat everything up” level or the “beat the big bad boss” level.
The side missions have you carrying someone from one point to another, beat up a bunch of bad guys or racing across New York to hit a bunch of beacons within a time limit.
But the game puts in some nice abilities to use in these missions– namely the Web Rush.
With the Web Rush, you can make great leap across vast distances, strike enemies from afar, or take enemies out with a Stealth Attack from above. It really is a lot of fun to use.
But there isn’t much difference between this version and the Xbox 360/PS3 version except for a few minor missions, one or two Spider Suits, and the option of playing as Stan Lee, Spider Man. If you’ve played the previous version, it is not worth another $40 to get this one.
But if you haven’t played any other version, then this is one you should try – maybe even buy at the $40 price.
The Amazing Spider Man is good, but the WiiU needs games that are not remakes of games that came out on other systems several months ago. RENT IT.

Spider-Man swings over to the Wii U in this port of last years game. Except this version includes all the DLC already installed on the disc for free making it the definitive version. It's not exactly perfect, bland level design, lackluster combat, and graphical issues hold it back from greatness. But it's hard to complain about this game while your web-slinging around the city and having a blast.

i love this game but the only downside is that it gets repetive but you will never get tired of running up the oscorp tower and swinging from building to building. You may get mad if you die and your stubborn to finish the game (like me). That is all im going to say this gets 8/10
