It's not great, but it's not terrible either. The meat of the game lacks a certain charm, and the combat is simplistic, but swinging around Manhattan to accomplish good deeds is fun, even if they're the same good deeds over and over again. The story and voice acting are good, and there's loads of stuff to collect and unlock (including some fine comic books, which you can read from cover to cover). I guess it's nice that all the DLC challenges from the other console versions are included on the disc, but, personally, I wasn't all that enthralled by them. Also, there's some pretty atrocious screen tearing at times, and the Gamepad touch sensitivity isn't quite responsive enough.
If you're a big Spider-Man fan, this game is worth a rent (or maybe even a purchase, if you can get it cheap enough). If you're looking for a really excellent superhero game on Wii U, however, pick up "Batman: Arkham City" instead.
