Very Good

The Amazing Spider-Man

This game surprised me a lot. Although I figured it would be average, it turned out to be an enjoyable adventure for Spidey and for me. Ever since Spider-Man 2 on the PS2, there hasn't a game based on the web-slinger that I found to really lose myself in. But with this game, I was able to really enjoy the open-world Manhattan and action in the game.
While at times it can be repetitive, the game does a good job at creating cool action scenes and awesome villains. While the story certainly isn't for the big screen, it was enjoyable and I actually like the main villain. The Amazing Spider-Man isn't the perfect superhero game, but it does an excellent job at making us feel like we are the wise-cracking hero.

8/10

Boring, too easy, and worst camera angles ever!

When I first saw this game, I immediately put it in my game Q since I not only love Spider-Man, but its games as well. The Spider-Man on the Xbox and PS2 was amazing, so I expected this Spider-Man to be much better since it's on a newer platform and all.
Right as I began the game, after the 10 minute beginning cut-scene, I could tell I wasn't going to like this Spider-Man at all. The first thing that immediately drew my attention and did not like whatsoever was the absolute terrible camera angle! The camera is directly over Spider-Man's shoulder, making it very difficult to be as limber, speedy, and ninja-like as Spider-Man really is. I was constantly confused whether I was on the wall or on the ceiling. The camera sensitivity is very bad as well, barely touching the joystick jolts the camera angle like crazy. Fortunately, you can change the camera sensitivity in the settings, although you can't change the camera angle, trust me, I have looked hard.
What I was most excited about this game was the web swinging, especially in the city. This game play let me down as well, partially because of the camera angle too. The only thing the user does is hold down R2 and Spider-Man will swing, and holding L2 and R2 will do a rising swing, and that's all. There's no control when or how you want to swing, or how fast or slow you want to; you just hold the R2 button, very boring IMO.
The next thing I was looking forward to was the combat, especially since I heard it was similar to Batman: Arkham City. Yet, it's nowhere near the state of art that Arkham City achieves at all. Spider-Man's moves aren't that complex and cool, while the actually moves seem to studder, which seems to be done on purpose by the creators. It just seems too childish and not badas like Arkham City is.
Overall, this game is not as badas as I thought it was gonna be. It seems to be a little kid game since it's very easy, bad graphics, boring web swinging, boring upgrades, and absolutely bad camera angle

When I got this game it had a few small scratches but I tried it anyway and it did not work. I am upset because I hold Gamefly to a higher standard.
