Tetris is one of those games in my opinion that you play on a arcade machine or some ones graphing calculator for 10 minutes then get bored with it and do something else.
This game tried to make the simple game of blocks more interesting by adding a story line and 6 different ways to play the uncomplicated pastime.
However, after playing all the versions of play, I found that there were really only 2. The traditional way and a game where you were stuck with a whole bunch of garbage blocks on the bottom and you had to make line including them to get rid of them.
The plot of the game is you are a alien life form trying to escape your planet because your afraid it will soon be unliveable. You are suppose to play tetris on other planets to open link to yours so you can flee to them later. This abstract plot didn't really go anywhere after the opening cut scene. The only evidence of progress in the story is your ability to gain ranks in each of the tetris worlds which seem to get you nowhere.
Along with story mode there is arcade mode which only purpose seems to be allowing multiplayer gameplay though I never played in this mode.
Overall, Tetris Worlds is a pretty shallow game that provides the limited fun time of tetris but extends the playing time to maybe 30 minutes because of its 2 versions and cheap story line. Possibly worth your time if your a die hard tetris fan but definitely not worth your money buying.
