THIS GAME FAILS MISERABLY AT COMBINING SIMULATION LIKE SCENARIOS, AND RACING-LIKE ATMOSPHERE. THE VOICE-OVERS ARE WEAK AT BEST. COMBINING A GENERIC SCRIPT AND A GENERIC PLOT DOESNT MAKE IT BETTER. IN THIS CASE, TWO IS NOT BETTER THAN ONE. THE IDEA OF THE GAME IS PROMISING. BUYING HOUSES, CARS, CLOTHES ETC. BUT THE ENTIRE GAME FALLS SHORT IN EVERY CATAGORY.

I am sorry, but I played the first game and it was ok. I put this came in and once I got past all the down loads I was ready to play. However, I could not get past how terrible the cars looked and even worse how they drive. After all, do people really care about playing dress up in a racing game? If they want that then they should buy the Sims 3. I played this game and returned it the same day. Personally, I don't like comparing games to one another because everybody is different, but I just didn't see where a lot of time, money, and effort was put into this game in order to save this franchise.

Decent game, has much more potential

This game is decent for what it tried to be - an open world racer, focused around a deep career, with many branches (the 4 types of progression), with seamless online integration. However, it feels as if it was rushed in production. The graphics are mediocre - very grainy and dull in some spots. It also needs a much-overhauled physics engine. It feels as if all the cars turn exactly the same, no matter the class. Since the patches, it only froze on me once, which was an unexpected surprise. Also, I did not appreciate the loading times for things like the map and the stores. The sheer scale is great in this game, but without polish, it is a lot harder to become addicted to it - with some many setbacks like the graphics, physics, and general menu navigation, this game still does have potential, but because Atari (seemingly) rushed it, it only gets a 6.
