STORY - Though the story isn't all that great, it's easily the highlight of this game and that really isn't saying a whole lot. Taking place in the year 2016, you assume the role of John Connor prior to him taking lead of the resistance against the machines. You're just another soldier/survivor taking orders from those that are higher up than you but it isn't too long before you're taking charge of your own path and recruiting others for a suicide mission across Los Angles. It's a novel story that sends the message that every life is sacred but is quickly marred by many development issues.
SOUND - The somewhat orchestrated main theme isn't so bad but when it's the only music you hear the entire time, it loses it's effect fast. Also, a lack of real voice talent or big name stars makes the script a mostly generic affair.
VISUALS - If this were a launch title then it's many flaws may have been forgivable but this is nowhere near the big budget blockbuster I thought it would be when comparing it to the movie. Level layouts are impressive enough but with only four or five enemy types things can get dull pretty rapidly. All but one cinematic are completely abysmal and speech rarely matches up with the characters' mouths.
CONTROLS - The controls seem to work as they were intended for the most part but sometimes there can be a delay between your actions on the game pad and your actions on screen. During various on rails vehicle segments your cross hairs will pull to the left or right, making it hard to aim and hit your targets accurately.
STORY - 6.5
SOUND - 5.5
VISUALS - 5.0
CONTROLS - 6.0
