A horrifying excuse for a full priced game, I must echo the previous reviewer - I have sympathy for the poor schmuck who shelled out $60 for this steamer. A buddy and I blew through it in around 3.5 hours after which I couldn't stuff it back in the mailbox quickly enough.
In hindsight, 3.5 hours is even a stretch considering a good 15-20 minutes (or so it seemed) consisted of laughably lip synced cut scenes.
The core game play itself wasn't exactly a deal breaker, although several aspects are flawed. I believe it would've been much worse had I gone it alone - co-op makes any game more enjoyable IMO. The targeting/aiming system was rather unresponsive and sluggish, as was the frame rate, which dropped dramatically on some occasions. Considering the dated look of the Wanted engine, this is unacceptable. And apparently at this stage in the war the machines lack a sense of originality, as there are only 3-4 basic types of enemies you'll face on a regular basis, minus a couple of set piece battles.
Like Wanted, one of the fews things TS has going for it is its cover system. It is, however, unpolished and lacks the crispness and fluidity found in Gears of War. The audio is neither here nor there... the rifles and launchers sound as they should, nothing more. The soundtrack decently accompanies the adventure and blends the terminator theme well, but again, nothing that particularly stands out.
Overall I would not recommend this game to anyone, even if you are a die hard Terminator fan. It adds virtually nothing to the story while providing little enjoyment. By the time you do start getting into it, the credits roll. Combined with incessant cut scenes and the increasingly irritating loading screen, and there's not much left to salvage with this one.
