Fun at first, but in small doses.

This game is basically a collection of mini-games that you play to earn money to buy useless items for your computer friend. The games are varied (see more below). The premise to the game is lose, but plausible.
What makes this game initially interesting is the weird collection of characters your computer friend interacts with -- c'mon, there's a walking piece of celery and a dude on a carousel horse!
Let me start by admitting that I do "like" this game. I played the first Corner Shop as well, and I "liked" it. The problem is that the two are way too similar. (The first Corner Shop was even, dare I say it, harder?).
A few of the new minigames are pretty fun the first few times (the doctor's clinic, sushi bar and the airline to be specific), but they get tiresome quickly.
My favorite game from the original is back: the cake shop. It's challenging until you get the hang of it, but the difficulty never intensifies.
The bowling game (and the sushi bowling game) has to be the worst minigame EVER. And the easiest. I think my cat could play it and win with 3 happy faces.
Also, I think there is a glitch in the U.S. version with the gas station. No matter what wax you use, it's ALWAYS wrong.
Overall, the game's fun for a weekend or a short rental. It is mildly addicting, but the addiction is short-lived.
