Yes you heard right this is a real rpg every element you used to expect in a game is actually put into a video game! Are you surprised well let me tell you why.
To start things off the voice acting is done well I actually wanted to listen to every skit/storyline event that was available and even listened to a few more the once due to the humor involved
To those not used to the other tales series its a free scrolling fight that uses mp/hp. The fighting is really what makes this game stand out. You require skill and knowledge of the abilities at hand. The skills you learn from progressing have a huge effect in the fighting you do. You learn new artes (this game version of a wep ability or magic attack. altered artes and even mystic artes. you'll learn all about these in the games so I wont go into detail. as you progress you learn the ability to link artes together making the game movements flow ever so smoothly. Whats nice is you can even use shortcuts for allies to use an ability while your pulling off your combo's to perform even more damage.
Another great thing about this game is the ability to create new armor/weps/items/accessor- ies. You learn new skills by the weps you create and wield. So from the get go you start making even more powerful weps that help you progress through out the game. Another great thing about the synth ability is you can actually make gear that changes what the characters look like.
Costumes there is a ton of them some silly some awesome looking. Along with titles that you have to work to achieve.
Game play and re playability: Okay for total hours I was at was around 50 first go around its not accurate tho. However you will spend quite some time playing this game if you decide to go after all that is available and after you beat it the game gives you the ability to carry over your stuff with extra benefits with the purchase of grade (how well u played) making it even more interesting to replay the game. A must buy for any rpg lover
First off...the cons: Why do people give this game such great reviews? The graphics are PS2 gen. The storyline is dry and the game play offers nothing new.
Second off, the pros: It is actually a really good game! I really love the game play. This is because you can set it to automatic and you don't have to do anything when fighting, the game does it by itself. That's so convenient, I can multitask. The storyline is not too bad, I mean it's dry at the very beginning, but it gets really good. As for the graphics, they aren't bad just not PS3 or Xbox 360 quality.
