If you haven't heard, Tales of the Symphonia is one of the best RPGs every made, largely due to its incredibly complex and masterfully connected story. Every person, every location, and every event is somehow related to the overall arcing story and it makes it a truly beautiful game. Definitely worth renting if you are an avid story-driven gamer.
ToS2 is not nearly as good, but I write this review for the first game only and consider the added sequel a bonus.
The graphics are are HD remastered making it look amazing on HD TVs, and the dual-audio should please people who wish to play it in Japanese, although I would say this is one of the few JRPGS that sound better in English. The game is 10 years old so you may feel put off with it's "oldness" when compared to more modern titles. Unfortunately, this is a port from Ps2 version which I find inferior in every way to GC version, but its still worth playing. The added skit animations and strange ps2 movements put me off at first but will probably not bother anyone who hasn't played the GameCube version.
I don't care how you do it. Every one should complete Tales of Symphonia at least once in their life.
