If you haven't heard, Tales of the Symphonia is one of the best RPGs every made, largely due to its incredibly complex and masterfully connected story. Every person, every location, and every event is somehow related to the overall arcing story and it makes it a truly beautiful game. Definitely worth renting if you are an avid story-driven gamer.
ToS2 is not nearly as good, but I write this review for the first game only and consider the added sequel a bonus.
The graphics are are HD remastered making it look amazing on HD TVs, and the dual-audio should please people who wish to play it in Japanese, although I would say this is one of the few JRPGS that sound better in English. The game is 10 years old so you may feel put off with it's "oldness" when compared to more modern titles. Unfortunately, this is a port from Ps2 version which I find inferior in every way to GC version, but its still worth playing. The added skit animations and strange ps2 movements put me off at first but will probably not bother anyone who hasn't played the GameCube version.
I don't care how you do it. Every one should complete Tales of Symphonia at least once in their life.

I started off by playing Tales of Vesperia, which I might add is one of the BEST games I have ever played. After that, I played Tales of the Abyss, which was also an amazing game. Both games I rated a perfect 10. It was at that point I thought of the Tales series as one of the best (if not the BEST) RPG series of all-time. Unfortunately, I had only played 2 Tales games, not all of them. I then got Tales of Graces F and thought it was going to be as good as the other two. It wasn't. Tales of Graces F was a failure at both story and gameplay. I wasn't even able to finish it before sending it back. So then I decided to rent this game, Tales of Symphonia, which people had said was the best Tales game ever made. I don't know where people got that idea because Symphonia is in simple terms 'outdated garbage'. The fact you need an item just to UNLOCK, yes you heard me, UNLOCK a save point blows my mind. That sums up about how bad this game is. If you want to play a REAL Tales game that is worth your time, get Vesperia or Abyss. Don't bother with this horrible garbage.
