TMNT for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

I kind of sucked at first trying to play this game, but I played a second time and at some levels. It is easy gameplay. Raph and Leo are funny characters. I wish they had more into it like boxes of pizza because of course that's what is required in TMNT. But I like the story.

Unlike most other Ninja Turtles games, "TMNT" mixes things up a bit by providing fast-paced platforming action as well as brawling. This helps it rise above the more simplistic TMNT brawlers (the ones based on the 2003 TV series) released during the PS2/GCN/Xbox generation, but it still lacks a certain variety and gets awfully repetitive. The combat is mindless button-mashing, and the platforming doesn't have enough going on. Also, the Turtles repeat their battle cries way too often. (Apparently, "Booyah!" is the new "Cowabunga!".) Still, it's got a good narrative, and the levels are fairly well designed. There's nothing intrinsically bad about "TMNT", but only patient gamers and/or devoted Turtles fans are likely to see it through all the way to the end.
