this game was a great with graphics, although the game play was some what boring at times. It really needed a little more adventure. I would say this is one of the games that is good to play when you have the time to sit and think about the puzzles and there is not much else to do.
To make a long story short: Syberia 2 is an improvement over the original without a cliff hanger ending. The improvements in this game from the gameplay itself, as graphics and sound design are basically on the same level as the first game. The puzzles are better and the gameplay more streamlined. There are still control and movement issues, but they're not as problematic this time. The story is engaging and I liked the characters more in this game. To be honest, I wasn't hooked on Kate Walker in Syberia. It felt like she wanted to wrap up the game more than I did. However, this time she has purpose and her character has evolved. She also gets fewer annoying phone calls, only a few from people asking her to come home. And in the end, she gets Hans to Syberia, although you won't spend much time there. The ending wraps up Hans' journey, but also ends up being the biggest problem with this game. I was just starting to like Kate with her abandonment of her old life, but her storyline takes a back seat to an old man's childhood dream. In the end, after we've been wondering what will become of Kate throughout the whole game, it just ends. She gets to Syberia, finishes Hans' journey and apparently just gets stuck there. Kind of deflating, considering you go through two games and the main character doesn't finish HER story. Also note that there is a recap of the previous game at the start, so you don't have to play the first game to play this one. Syberia 2, despite it's flaws, is a good addition to the adventure genre. However, games such as Dreamfall and Myst may prove more satisfying (Myst for the puzzles, Dreamfall for the story).
I did truly enjoy playing this game. Great news it can be played on the xbox360 too! Good story, fun puzzles and interesting characters. Only limitation was it took me awhile to find places due to not having a mouse to search the tv screen entirely. You have to look everywhere and enjoy.

I played the first Syberia to the finish. My patience with some games has diminished with the newer generation advancing in so many areas. This was pretty to look at, but clunky exploration movement made it too slow and time consuming. When the whole game is based on exploring and solving puzzles, it should be seamless to do so. I stopped about 3/5 of the way in.
