The classic Mario formula gets upgraded with cartoon style space mechanics and a few new ideas from the people at Nintendo. Once again Bowser wants to be in charge of more than the koopa kingdom and selfishly kidnaps Princess Peach, this time going so far as to take to the stars and attempt to create his own galaxy, and Mario has to work with new-comer Rosalina, protector of the Lumas, and get her observatory functional once again in order to save Peach and the universe. The use of the pointer makes picking up certain items much easier and quicker, and exploring planetoids and other objects with varying gravities and pulls makes this one over the top entry in the beloved Mario franchise, I highly recommend it.
Maybe it's just because it was my first time playing this game but I lost interest immediately. The stupid little movies were longer than each little round of game I would play. I didn't get it. I'm not a big time gamer at all, but I was just hoping to have some fun with a new Mario game I'd never played before but holy smokes it was boring and took forever to get to the next scene. Plus the weird zoom/perspective/angle was dizzying at times. This game didn't hold my interest for more than a minute, and I'm bummed about that because I was really hoping it would. Oh well. I guess I'll just stick to Wii Sports Resort!

The Good: The storyline is interesting as Mario must travel through the galaxies and worlds to save living stars from being held captive and having their powers used for evil purposes. The story is cute and fun for all ages, as the controls are fairly easy.
The Bad: The comet stars and "Luigi Stars" are a bit annoying.
The Ugly: How the heck is the princess able to send you mail (with attachments of 1-ups) while being held prisoner?
