Well I actually JUST beat the game, and there's really nothing bad I have to say about it.
Visuals were amazing... Might be the HD cables I just bought, but still... =P
The concept was great, I thought the intro was the greatest intro to any Mario game on the market!... Now I haven't seen ALL the Mario intros, but it still got me greatly excited, and just itching to play more.
Spent about half the day playing through, and I was doing my best to get all the stars, but when I found I only needed 20 more stars to go, I ended up giving up that dream and just went for what I could get to finish the game the quickest. n.n;;
Now about the ending being weird... It was just that I didn't quite understand it... I know I can't spoil anything, but I'll just say I wish there was a LITTLE bit more speaking with the ending cut scene... Heck, maybe it's that it's rather late and I'm too tired to comprehend anything =P...
In any case the game was great over all...
I'm giving it a 9 because the visuals were great, the game was fun the play, I loved the intro, but I just wish the ending had a little bit more kick to it.
Probably one of the best Mario Titles Sine Mario 64. I'm a bigger fan of 2D Mario... just more of a nostalgia thing. This game definitely pays respect to its predecessors. From background music, to gameplay, almost nothing has changed. But the fact remains, you' re Mario... mushroom kingdom... galaxies... if you liked the controls in Zelda this game is like butter. Even when running upside down and on cliffs.... it's not as confusing as it looks in video... that's half the fun part. Some people ask me if the game is redundant... let me ask you something, "Aren't all the games in the Mario series redundant after a while"? This game is definitely a must for any Nintendo fan.
