I really enjoyed the first Mario Galaxy and I knew that this one would not disappoint. Perhaps it is too similar to the first one for a lot of people, but I left the first one wishing I had more levels to play. There are a lot of galaxies to explore, and there are even more stars to find (some easy, and some difficult). This game rewards you for continuing through the game more than any other Mario game.
Graphics - 8/10 - It's a Mario game. That said, the graphics don't need to be overly detailed in this game. They are really good for what they need to be.
Gameplay - 9/10 - It runs pretty smooth and Mario seems to do everything my fingers tell him to do. One drawback is the camera which usually follows you and rotates accordingly. There were rare instances where I got crammed or turned out of view, but this is not a gamebreaker by any means.
Replay - 8/10 - I will definitely keep playing this game way past the point of "beating" it...hopefully until I get the rediculous amount of stars; so in that way it keeps me motivated to continue.
Overall - 8.3/10 - I am an avid gamer and I enjoy the most violent and the most childish of adventures. This is a really good game, and although Mario continues down the spiral of cartoonish appeal and decreasing difficulty, I would recommend renting this game to about anyone.
(I give it a 10 because of some jaded fool who gave it a "1")

When I first started to play, I was afraid that this game would be just new levels in addition to SMG1...but boy was I wrong!
While some of the levels may seem familiar, there is plenty to learn and many new skills to master. The addition of Yoshi, not to mention the cloud suit, just proves that Nintendo can improve on an already spectacular game.
I love the addition of checkpoints, which was a great feature in the New Super Mario Bros, and I'm glad they added it to SMG2.
The graphics, while a far cry from anything HDMI related, were vibrant and colorful...I commented last night it reminded me a bit of the music videos from Rockband: Beatles.
All in all a fun game that will no doubt command all of my freetime for the next month.
