Most of the Mario platformer-style games are basically the same. This one, however, differs from the rest, as a game with no time limit, and a major element of the game is...pulling up veggies. It's a fun game, but (I found it) harder than you would believe. At the end of every level is a boss, but it's not bowser...
The enemies you find are different than your standard goombas and koopas. SMA's consist mostly shy guys of varying sizes and colors, little spiky purple things that jump around, and obnoxious little flashing orbs that circle most of the platforms.
The game play mechanics are somewhat lacking. It's hard to move, and the graphics are poor, even for a gba game. The main way to defeat thing in SMA is not jumping on their heads. The creators went a different direction with this game by making it entirely based on picking/pulling up various objects such as eggs, the enemies themselves, and(as I mentioned before) vegetables.
The game does, however, offer 4 character choices with different stats, tons of complex levels, and the included retro arcade mario game.
If you're looking for a easy game with quick-fire levels and variety of enemies, look elsewhere. However, if you're looking for a mario game that breaks away from the norm with tons of vegetable-y fun, but is still a good platformer, Super Mario Advance is a decent game.
